Why do children wet themselves when playing?

Patient's question:

Patient is male, 2.5 years old. He has been in good health overall. Recently, for over a month, he has been experiencing enuresis.
History of treatment and effectiveness: Has not seen a doctor yet.
What kind of help is desired: Wants to know what might be the cause?

Doctor's answer:

Enuresis refers to the involuntary loss of urine during deep sleep in individuals over 18 years old. If a child under 3 years old experiences enuresis, it is not considered a pathological condition. This is because children under 3 often have underdeveloped urinary control centers in the brain and have not yet established a regular urination habit. Common causes include: 1. Excessive fatigue or excitement from playing during the day, severe emotional distress, such as being startled, 2. Deep sleep: Generally, children who wet the bed sleep very deeply and are difficult to wake up, even not knowing they have wet the bed.
