Is this considered diarrhea?

Patient's question:

The baby is now ten months old and has been having 3-4 bowel movements a day for the past week and a half (not runny or dry, just normal). They have one bowel movement at 2 a.m., one at noon, and 1-2 in the afternoon. Is this considered diarrhea? They are being breastfed and given complementary foods, with very few fruits. They haven't seen a doctor yet and want to know if they should give the baby diarrhea medicine.

Doctor's answer:

There is no such situation where the baby takes it together. This has only appeared in the past week. If this is the case, and the number of times per day is greater than three, it can be trusted to be nausea and vomiting. However, since the baby's stool characteristics are normal, it may be caused by frequent bowel movements or catching a cold alone. First, carefully observe and pay attention to keeping the abdomen warm. When carefully observing the baby's stool, see if they cry. Then, if it still persists, or if they cry, there may be inflammation, and it needs active treatment.
