Patient's question:
Why did my child get pneumonia at 2 months? What conditions lead to this illness? Currently hospitalized. The doctor said it's very serious. I'd like to understand the origin and development of this disease.Doctor's answer:
Pneumonia is generally caused by bacterial or other pathogenic microorganism infections, which may be related to inadequate adult care or insufficient nutrition in children. When a child gets cold, the pathogens reach the nasal cavity, and if the child cannot resist them or fails to add clothes in time, the pathogens may ascend to the trachea and bronchi. If the child still cannot resist them, they reach the lungs, leading to pneumonia. Pneumonia usually presents with low fever and cough. Such young children do not cough up phlegm, so the phlegm cannot be expelled, which makes the recovery from pneumonia very slow.
