Worried about the child having Down syndrome, should an NIPT or amniocentesis be done?

Patient's question:

My half-brother has Down syndrome. I am currently 244 weeks pregnant. I have had NT, early and mid-pregnancy screening, all with low risk. I also had a 4D ultrasound. Looking at the 4D ultrasound photos, I feel that my child's nose bridge is a bit low. Could it be a Down syndrome baby? Please help the doctors make a guess. I am very worried. Do I need to have a non-invasive test or amniocentesis?

Doctor's answer:

Although there is a child with Down syndrome in the family, early and mid-pregnancy screening for Down syndrome have been done, and there were no issues. Therefore, the baby will definitely not have any problems. Don't worry, since all the thorough examinations have shown no problems, the baby will definitely not have any issues. If there were any problems during the 4D ultrasound, the doctor would have informed you, suggesting further detailed examination. Since the doctor hasn't mentioned any issues now, it proves that there are no problems, and there is no need to be anxious.
