Fever persists and recurs, what should I do?

Patient's question:

Yesterday, the fever kept coming back. This morning, it was 39.5 degrees. I took her to the hospital, where she received a fever-reducing injection. The blood test showed high white blood cell count. After the IV fluids, we went home, but now she has a fever again! We have been prescribed antiviral medication and cephalosporin. Why is the child constantly feverish?! What should we do? How can we prevent her from having a fever, coughing, and shivering when she has a fever, with a pale yellow complexion!

Doctor's answer:

Fever and high temperature are mostly caused by bacterial or viral infections. Treatment is primarily based on antibiotics. Simply using fever-reducing medication is only treating the symptoms, not the root cause. It is recommended to undergo blood tests and other examinations to confirm the infectious cause before starting treatment. Also, make sure to give the child plenty of fluids. Recurrent fever indicates that the inflammation has not been suppressed, or the antibiotics used are not suitable. It is best to use antibiotics based on the results of bacterial culture and drug sensitivity tests.
