A newborn with a fever of 37.8°C: How to handle it

Patient's question:

My mom hasn't been able to cook recently and often says she has a headache and feels dizzy. The key is that I don't really know what's going on, but I just see that she's not in good spirits. How should I handle it if a newborn baby with less than a month old has a fever of 37.8?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, fever is a defensive response. If the body temperature is below 38.5 degrees, there is no need for antipyretic treatment. Rest and keep warm, drink plenty of warm water. If the body temperature is above 38.5 degrees, you can take ibuprofen preparations or paracetamol for symptomatic treatment, and at the same time, you can do physical cooling treatment.
