The book comprises eleven volumes, covering a wide range of topics essential for Chinese medicine clinical practice, including diagnosis, pharmaceuticals, cold damage and miscellaneous diseases, as well as the treatments for internal, external, gynecological, pediatric, and ophthalmological/otological diseases. It lists over a thousand prescriptions and medicinal formulas that the author had profound experience with in clinical practice, making it a highly practical and comprehensive clinical medical book. To date, no copies of this book are known to exist in China. The current edition was collated and proofread based on the manuscript held in the National Archives of Japan, the Interior Ministry Library. The rediscovery of this book has further enriched the corpus of Chinese medical clinical literature and provides another important historical document for studying the development of Chinese medicine in the late Ming Dynasty. This book is widely suitable for reference by Chinese medical literature researchers, clinical physicians, and others. It can also be collected by libraries and archives.
