This is a series of textbooks designed for medical undergraduates, divided into three types: Medical English Reading, Medical English Writing, and Medical English Listening and Speaking. The entire series consists of five books: Medical English Reading (Volumes 1 and 2), Medical English Writing (Volume 1), Medical English Listening and Speaking (Volume 1), and the Teacher's Book for Medical English Reading. The Medical English Listening and Speaking textbook is accompanied by audio cassettes. The two volumes of Medical English Reading are suitable for 80 hours of teaching. The Medical English Writing and Medical English Listening and Speaking textbooks are each suitable for 40 hours of teaching. Each of the three textbooks is self-contained and can be used independently in teaching, but they can also be combined to form a complete series. The entire series is suitable for 160 hours of teaching. This series of textbooks is designed with the College English Test Band 4 as the starting point and aims to meet the goals of English teaching reform and requirements in the 21st century. In terms of format, content, and arrangement, it differs from traditional medical English textbooks, fully reflecting the characteristics of medical English and focusing on cultivating students' medical English knowledge and skills to meet the needs of medical students. The reading textbooks are organized according to the human anatomy system, combining basic and clinical knowledge. Each chapter includes two main parts: medical English word formation and reading. By learning medical English word formation methods and expanding students' vocabulary, the textbooks aim to improve students' reading skills. The writing textbook emphasizes practicality and application, teaching writing methods and techniques for medical application documents to medical paper abstracts. The book includes examples, model texts, and analysis of common errors. The listening and speaking textbook integrates English listening and speaking skills, offering diverse and lively exercises that cover scenarios ranging from medical consultations to academic presentations.
