Features: This book takes an applied perspective to comprehensively introduce the structure of microcontrollers that constitute embedded systems, the principles of common supporting hardware, and the design and development methods. The book consists of 24 chapters, divided into three parts. Part 1 (Chapters 1–14) introduces the structure and principles of the M·CORE microcontroller, which features a 32-bit RISC CPU core. Each functional module is covered in separate chapters, with detailed explanations of their principles and usage methods. As is well known, microcontrollers come in various types. Although the CPU and internal functional modules differ across different types, the fundamental principles (especially some general functionalities) remain consistent. Part 2 (Chapters 15–19) covers the principles, design, and usage methods of common peripheral circuits in embedded systems, including: asynchronous serial interface interconnection and application examples, synchronous serial bus and application examples, liquid crystal display modules, liquid crystal controllers, touchscreens and touch screen controllers, and application examples of various types of memory. Part 3 (Chapters 20–24) introduces the development environment and software development for embedded systems. Based on discussions of the general process of embedded system software development and the requirements for development tools, it covers the M·CORE software development support toolset, the MMC2107 microcontroller evaluation board, common M·CORE tool software, the QodeWarrior integrated development environment (IDE), and basic programming techniques for M·CORE. This book is suitable for senior undergraduate and graduate students in computer application or related fields, as well as for engineers and researchers engaged in embedded system technology research, design, development, and application.
