Features: This certificate serves as the basis for assessment and recruitment by personnel departments. Passing the exam to obtain an authoritative, nationwide-recognized English proficiency certificate is a recognized credential for English level assessment and career selection. The National English Proficiency Test (NEPT) is designed with five levels and an additional level, which will gradually replace existing multiple English exams, such as the junior high school entrance exam, vocational and technical school foreign language tests, senior high school comprehensive assessment, self-study public English courses, adult college entrance exams, and government-sponsored foreign language proficiency tests. Additionally, the test aims to guide the question-setting direction for the college entrance exam and postgraduate entrance exam in English.
This textbook consists of 19 chapters, each covering a communicative topic. At the beginning of each chapter, a brief description is provided to outline the expected English communicative level for PETS Level 3 candidates within that chapter. Each chapter is further divided into 1–2 units, totaling 27 units. Each unit includes six components: dialogue, text, vocabulary and phrases, notes, exercises, and supplementary reading materials.
