Features: David Herbert Lawrence (1885–1930) was a renowned British writer. Lady Chatterley's Lover is Lawrence's last novel, published in Florence in July 1928. It immediately faced attacks from the British literary establishment and was banned by British authorities for "obscenity" until 1958. Lady Chatterley's Lover tells the story of Constance (Constance's affectionate name), who marries the aristocratic landowner Charles Chatterley. Soon after, he is injured in war and becomes permanently paralyzed from the waist down. In the old family home, their lives are carefree but lifeless. The gamekeeper in the estate rekindles Constance's passion for love and her desire for life. She often secretly visits his cabin for trysts, indulging in primal, passionate sex. Constance becomes pregnant and goes to Venice on vacation to hide the pregnancy. At this time, the gamekeeper's wife, who has not yet divorced him, suddenly returns, exposing their affair. The vast social gap forces Constance to marry someone else first to bear his child, leaving the gamekeeper to silently wait for the child's birth.
