Publish Date: 2000-10-01
Features: This book employs the literary biography method to recreate the exotic love affair and rich inner world of Lu Gui, an ordinary yet great Chinese woman of the last century. It inspired her other half, the world-renowned historian of science and technology, Joseph Needham, to overcome difficulties and complete the monumental work "A History of Science and Technology in China," which deeply influenced Western perceptions of ancient Chinese culture and civilization. Ultimately, Lu Gui's personal strength was elevated. The book is well-documented, concise in text, simple in language, and vivid in narrative.
