Author: Guo Rugui
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-01-01
Features: This book first introduces events from the "September 18th Incident" to the Xi'an Incident, followed by the "July 7th Incident," the Beiping Operation, the North China Campaign, the East China Campaign, the early phase of the stalemate period, and China's resistance during the Pacific War. The book mainly includes the following content:
1. The sub-sections under each chapter of the book are rich in content, so they are treated as relatively independent units. At the end of each section, appendices and notes are listed for the convenience of readers.
2. The book involves a large number of Chinese and foreign place names. For the same place name, due to differences in the sources used, there may be variations in spelling or translation, and some historical place names may differ from their current names. Some small place names appear in operational maps and file archives from that time and are difficult to verify their current standardized names. Although we have done a lot of work with the book's editorial team in verifying place names, there may still be shortcomings.
3. Regarding citations, some quotations in publications may not be faithful to historical archives, or the punctuation added by the original compilers may not be appropriate, or typographical errors in the layout may not have been corrected. Therefore, when quoting such text in this book, some modifications have been made. Also, to ensure that the numbers in the quotations align with the numerical data in the descriptive text, Arabic numerals have been used for the numbers in the quotations.
4. The operational maps included in the book are an indispensable part of it. In the maps, black lines represent the anti-Japanese forces, and gray lines represent Japanese and puppet forces. Solid arrows indicate the direction of, while dashed arrows indicate the direction of.
