This book aims to broaden horizons, enrich knowledge, enhance national pride and confidence, and contribute to the inheritance and promotion of this excellent legacy, creating a socialist musical culture. Since its initial compilation in 1963, the book has been revised and improved multiple times through long-term teaching use. After 1980, it underwent further revisions based on the teaching syllabus issued by the Ministry of Education. During the writing and revision process, extensive materials from renowned musicologists such as Yang Yinliu and recent academic papers and research findings by scholars at home and abroad were incorporated. Due to the author's limited level and conditions, there may be inaccuracies in the selection, evaluation of various historical sources, and discussions on the connections between music and the politics, economy, and culture of the time.
