Against the backdrop of globalization and the rapid advancement of high-tech industries driving international competitiveness toward new regional developments, the swift growth of the Asian region, and the rapid development of China's manufacturing sector, the center conducted this research on fundamental issues of regional competitiveness. This study applies the evaluation systems and analytical methods of the world's authoritative international competitiveness assessment institutions—the Swiss Institute for Management Development (IMD) and the World Economic Forum (WEF)—namely the Eight Competitiveness Factors Model and the new Four Competitiveness Factors Model. Focusing on the research theme of regional competitiveness, it conducts comparative analysis and strategic research on the international competitiveness of major global regions and China's major regions. These comparative analyses and strategic studies help us better understand the development patterns of regional competitiveness worldwide and the status of China's major regional competitiveness, identify the competitive advantages and disadvantages of China's international competitiveness, and enhance the sustainable innovation foundation for improving China's regional competitiveness. At the same time, they hold significant guiding significance for China's comprehensive construction of a moderately prosperous society and the substantial enhancement of competitiveness across all of China's regions.
