Features: During the compilation of this book, complete respect was given to the actual case facts, trial process, grounds for judgment, and outcomes, ensuring objectivity and authenticity. To facilitate readers' understanding of the specific trial process, details such as the trial bodies at each level, parties involved in the lawsuit, time of case resolution, claims of both prosecution and defense, identified case facts, evidence accepted, and applicable legal provisions were included. To help readers better understand the rationale for legal application and relevant legal theories, the editors provided explanations and commented on shortcomings in the judgments. Some editions also included brief legal terminology explanations in appendices. Over the past decade, with the deepening of China's reform and opening-up, socialist democracy and rule of law have made significant progress, and at the same time, the trial work of people's courts has also advanced greatly. In addition to criminal and civil trials, economic, administrative, and transportation trials have been gradually introduced. Annually, courts across the country have resolved approximately 3 million first-instance cases of various types. Trial procedures have become increasingly refined, and the quality of trial work has continuously improved. We believe it is necessary to systematically select and compile court trial cases to introduce the practice of Chinese trials to domestic and international audiences, showcasing the achievements of China's rule of law construction. At the same time, this also provides valuable reference materials for Chinese judicial workers, legislative workers, as well as teaching and research personnel. For this purpose, the National High-Level Judges Training Center and the Law School of Renmin University of China have jointly collaborated since 1992 to annually select and compile a comprehensive trial case collection, including cases resolved in the previous year. Each volume is divided into four parts: Criminal Trial Cases, Civil Trial Cases, Economic Trial Cases, and Administrative Trial Cases. Due to the limited number of transportation trial cases, which are insufficient to form a separate volume, they have been categorized and included in the Economic and Criminal volumes based on their nature. The title of the book is "Comprehensive Review of Chinese Trial Cases."
