How to handle a child with a fever at night when sleeping

Patient's question:

Lately, my boss has said that I'm not in good spirits and it's affecting my work performance. Actually, I don't want to, either. I often can't sleep at night and sometimes feel anxious and uncomfortable. If it gets worse, I'm worried it might affect my health and work. How should I handle a child with a fever at night?

Doctor's answer:

When a baby has a fever, physical cooling should be the first choice, especially for small infants with fever. If physical cooling is ineffective, use a small amount of fever-reducing medication for drug-induced cooling. Methods of physical cooling include local heat dissipation, taking a warm bath or warm sponge bath, and saline enema. Among these, local heat dissipation is the simplest and most practical, suitable for home use. For temperatures below 38.5°C, physical cooling can be used; for temperatures above 38.5°C, fever-reducing medication can be used.
