Features: To adapt to the needs of the times and the reform of teaching in our institution, we have organized the writing of this textbook based on the summary of years of teaching experience and the absorption of research achievements in the field of economic theory. This textbook aims to highlight the following characteristics: 1. In terms of structure and content, it follows the logical connection of the content as the main thread, starting from Marx's labor value theory, to the theory of surplus value and capital accumulation, to the theory of individual and social capital movement, and then to the theory of the division of surplus value, finally to the theory of monopolistic capitalism. The content is interconnected, and the theory is progressively deepened. 2. In the explanation of the principles, it strives for accuracy and systematicity. In terms of language organization and written expression, it aims to be easy to understand and accept. 3. The analysis of the monopolistic capitalism section has been strengthened in the content organization. This book's analysis of monopolistic capitalism adheres to Lenin's basic principles of imperialist analysis while focusing on the new changes in contemporary capitalism. It strives to elevate the analysis of new phenomena, situations, and issues such as contemporary state-monopolistic capitalism, the internationalization of monopolistic capital, economic globalization, and the international relations of contemporary capitalism to a certain theoretical level. 4. It adheres to the principle of seeking truth from facts, starting from reality, and combining theory with practice. It strives to scientifically reflect the actual situation of capitalism in the theoretical viewpoints it explains. Therefore, in the analysis of the capitalist system, it not only reveals the historical limitations and transitional nature of the essence of capitalism but also realistically clarifies the historical progressiveness of capitalism and the advanced achievements in civilization created during its development. 5. Each chapter of this book includes a list of original reading materials and review and reflection questions to facilitate students in comparing the original texts for study and review. This textbook is primarily suitable for undergraduate students of finance and economics colleges but can also be used as a textbook for other undergraduate colleges of liberal arts. It can also be used by junior college students and self-taught learners of political economy.
