How to Predict a Child's Height

Patient's question:

A friend of mine recently encountered this situation and stayed in the hospital for a period of time. I visited him, and he said he was a bit in pain and couldn't sleep at night, which greatly affected his state. How can one predict a child's height?

Doctor's answer:

The baby should be experiencing growing pains, which is a physiological type of pain. It occurs due to the rapid increase in the child's height, causing the calf tendons to be stretched and resulting in pain. The pain typically occurs during rest and before bedtime. If there are no abnormalities in the legs and the child does not experience pain during activity or play, treatment is not necessary. When the pain occurs, local massage or storytelling to distract the child can help alleviate the pain.
