Features: This book is based on the "Lecture Notes on Electromagnetic Experiments" used for many years at the School of Physics and Science, Nankai University, and has been comprehensively revised, supplemented, and expanded with new experiments introduced in recent years. It includes two parts: preliminary knowledge and 28 selected experiments. These experiments have been adopted in the teaching practice of undergraduate students in various science and engineering disciplines at our university and are relatively mature. A considerable number of the instruments and setups used in these experiments were designed and manufactured by us, such as the "Magnetic Properties Measurement Device" and the "Multifunctional Microvoltmeter." These devices are highly targeted, practical, and advanced, and have won various awards at different levels. They are currently being used in teaching. During the writing process, the book follows the principle of simplifying complexity, starting from fundamentals and progressing gradually. For more advanced content, the physical significance is explained in an accessible manner to help students grasp and apply it. Each experiment introduces the principles and content, along with an introduction and precautions, to help students understand the experiment in its entirety and avoid errors. The review questions and thought questions at the end of each chapter assist students in previewing, summarizing, and improving their understanding. In some experiments, practical components are emphasized, such as homemade transformers and thermocouples, which undoubtedly promote students' initiative, the integration of theory with practice, and their hands-on skills. To reflect the development of modern science and technology, new experiments and content have been added, allowing students to explore new instruments and measurement methods, broadening their horizons. Additionally, comprehensive experiments in areas such as force-electricity and light-electricity have been included, which is highly beneficial for cultivating students' comprehensive experimental abilities. The writing of this electromagnetism experiment textbook and the design of experiments have the efforts and wisdom of the teachers and engineering technicians in our laboratory. The "Lecture Notes on Electromagnetic Experiments" was written by colleagues who worked in our laboratory at different times. During this revision, we also referred to relevant textbooks from other institutions, and we extend our gratitude to them. During the writing process, the book received enthusiastic support and patient guidance from Professor Men Zhenyu. Professor Tan Chengzhang carefully reviewed the draft and provided many valuable and insightful suggestions. We sincerely express our gratitude to both professors. The book also received assistance from Professor Gao Limo, Professor Liu Zichen, and Engineer Chen Ping. Nankai University Press provided enthusiastic support and cooperation, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to them. Professor Tan Chengzhang served as the chief reviewer for this book. Due to the limited level of the authors, there may inevitably be shortcomings and errors in the book. We sincerely welcome criticism and corrections from the readers. By the authors in November 2001 at Nankai University.
