How to handle a baby's cold for over two months

Patient's question:

I don't know what's going on, but my child has been misbehaving and crying non-stop lately. Even the hospital check-up didn't help. How should I handle a cold in a two-month-old baby?

Doctor's answer:

Do not rush to reduce fever in children with colds. Fever is a defensive response of the body, which is beneficial for eliminating invading bacteria and also the normal growth and development of children. However, when the fever is high (above 39℃), fever reduction should be done under the guidance of a doctor. The best way to reduce fever is physical cooling, such as cold compresses and alcohol rubs. If physical methods cannot lower the body temperature, fever-reducing drugs can be used in combination.
