What should I do if my baby has high platelet count?

Patient's question:

I am 36 years old this year, and recently I have been feeling unwell. During the day, I sometimes feel dizzy, and it has affected my work. I can't sleep at night, and the medicine I took doesn't seem to help much. What should I do if my baby's platelet count is high?

Doctor's answer:

In your case, it may be a group of diseases collectively referred to as myeloproliferative disorders, which are caused by the continuous abnormal proliferation of one or more lines of bone marrow cells. Clinically, there is one or more abnormalities in the quality and quantity of blood cells, splenomegaly, a tendency to bleed, and thrombosis. It is recommended to first undergo a bone marrow examination to clarify the diagnosis and then provide symptomatic treatment. Based on your symptoms, bacterial enteritis is suspected. It is advised to take oral medications such as cefixime and smectite. If necessary, intravenous fluid therapy for anti-infection treatment may be required. Drink plenty of water, and maintain a light diet.
