After falling, rolling your eyes back, clenching your fists tightly, and biting your teeth shut - is this epilepsy?

Patient's question:

After falling down in the morning, I rolled my eyes, clenched my fists, and clenched my teeth tightly. When I pinched the center of my nose, I stopped rolling my eyes and unclenched my fists. My teeth also stopped being clenched, but I didn't open my eyes. I could still breathe properly, as if I were sleeping. After a while, my eyes opened. Once they were open, I knew everything. Is this a seizure?

Doctor's answer:

The main symptoms of a seizure include sudden loss of consciousness, followed by tonic-clonic convulsions. It is often accompanied by screaming, bluish complexion, incontinence, bitten tongue, foaming at the mouth or blood foam, and dilated pupils. The convulsions usually last for several seconds or minutes before stopping naturally, and the person enters a state of unconsciousness. After waking up, there may be a short period of dizziness, irritability, and fatigue, with no memory of the episode. If the seizure continues without interruption, leading to prolonged unconsciousness, it is referred to as status epilepticus, which can be life-threatening. It is recommended to seek early medical diagnosis and treatment.
