Features: The poetry of the Han, Wei, and Six Dynasties periods cannot be overlooked, but it was still in a state of development and growth. It was not as mature as Tang Dynasty poetry, where every piece was like fine gold and jade. Therefore, we disagree with some Qing Dynasty scholars who spoke of Han and Wei ancient poetry as being so lofty and unreachable. In their view, Han and Wei poetry seemed even better than Tang poetry, which is impossible. But this is only a general assessment. If we consider individual writers or specific works, who can say that Tao Yuanming was worse than Tang Dynasty writers? As for folk works, which era's works could surpass "The Peacock Feathers Flying Eastward," "Fifteen-Year-Old Joining the Army," "The Mulberry Field," and "The Ballad of Mulan"?
