Features: The initiation and writing process of this teaching material is summarized in the documents of China Music. During the writing process, as one of the editorial committee members, I received significant professional and ideological education. Due to the extensive content and innovative design, the writing process was highly challenging. The achievement of the current ( means "" in Chinese, which translates to "stage achievement" or "intermediate achievement") was made possible by the active participation of multiple experts and teachers from the Central Conservatory of Music and the China Conservatory of Music. Especially, the two senior sight-singing and ear-training experts of our country, Mr. Xiong Kexian and Mr. Xu Jingxing, who are over seventy years old, personally led and participated in the revision and writing. The writing process coincided with the Chinese New Year's Eve of the Tiger Year, during which the two gentlemen and the four grade editors, Hou Mengling, Hong Yuehua, Fan Jianming, and Xu Qing, as well as the teachers Jiang Kui, Huang Yili, Xie Xiuzhen, and Zhang Jianlin who participated in the writing, did not get adequate rest. Especially, Mr. Xiong Kexian, Ms. Hong Yuehua, and Ms. Hou Mengling fell ill before the Chinese New Year due to the tight schedule of preparing the teaching material, which deeply moved me and filled me with awe. The position and resources of China Music are limited, and we were unable to provide the experts and teachers with the necessary and better working conditions. Yet, for the sake of our country's social music education, the experts and teachers have been so diligent and conscientious, without conditions or remuneration, contributing so much knowledge, wisdom, and effort. As a member of China Music involved in this work, I deeply feel both admiration and shame.
