Children love to have diarrhea and vomit, how to solve it

Patient's question:

Baby
Detailed medical condition and consultation purpose: The child is crying a lot, and has some diarrhea, but only once every 1-2 days. The most distressing thing for me is that after eating for 10-20 minutes, he vomits everything he eats, including water. Everything he eats comes back up, and he is very hungry and wants to eat, but as soon as he does, he vomits. The hospital prescribed some medicine for him, but he only ate it twice and then vomited it all up. He doesn’t like taking medicine and is forced to have ited into him. The oral powder the doctor gave him, he also refuses to drink. I don’t know what to do and feel very upset.
Please help me see what is wrong with him?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, there are many causes of vomiting in children. It is recommended to go to the hospital for further examination. Based on a comprehensive physical examination, special attention should be paid to abdominal signs and neurological examination. If necessary, fundus examination and digital rectal examination should be performed.
Auxiliary tests:
1. Stool and urine routine tests and other examinations.
2. X-ray examination, CT, or MRI.
Treatment:
(1) Etiological treatment.
(2) Symptomatic treatment.
1. Severe vomiting requires fasting for 4 hours. Except in cases of gastric perforation, normal saline or 1-2% sodium bicarbonate solution can be used for gastric lavage. Pay attention to lateral positioning to prevent vomit from being aspirated into the trachea.
2. After vomiting stops or subsides, small amounts of thick, warm, easily digestible food, or liquid diets such as rice soup, can be given.
3. In cases of dehydration or electrolyte imbalance, fluid replacement and electrolyte supplementation should be administered promptly as needed. If there is peripheral circulatory failure, it should be treated according to circulatory failure protocols.
4. Frequent vomiting requires antiemetics and sedatives, such as luminal, phenobarbital, chlorpromazine suppositories, etc. Metoclopramide should be used with caution.
5. Spasmolytic drugs, such as belladonna mixture, atropine, 654-2, propantheline, and 1-2% procaine (1-2 ml/year/each time), can also be selected based on the condition. However, note that improper use may mask symptoms and hinder accurate diagnosis.
6. In cases of intracranial hypertension or cerebral edema, dehydration agents such as mannitol and hypertonic glucose solution can be used for treatment.
7. Acupuncture often targets acupoints such as Neiguan, Zhongwan, and Zusanli.
