Are they not humming to us that infinite, light, and delightful variation, a melody that captivates us with its endless charm? The clamor of the modern world has drowned out the romantic spirit, and the stories of the salon are deeply hidden in those ancient, yellowed books, diaries, letters, and memoirs, waiting for those with a to journey into the garden of history and wander happily alongside the characters of the stories. The salon is one of the most brilliant and dazzling landmarks in the history of modern Western culture. From the 15th to the 19th century, it was a concentrated hub of cultural life among the upper classes in Western Europe, often shaping the and trends of the times. From Lucrezia Borgia of the Renaissance to Ninon de Lenclos, Queen Christina of Sweden, down to a series of salon hostesses in the 19th century such as Madame de Sta?l and Madame de Récamier, all are vividly brought back to life in the author's exquisite prose.
