How to deal with constipation in a 7-month-old baby

Patient's question:

Why is a 7-month-old child not teething? What supplementary foods should be added now? How to deal with constipation?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, babies usually start teething between 4 to 8 months, but it's also normal if they start between 4 to 12 months. The speed of teething is influenced by factors such as genetics, calcium deficiency, and overall health. In addition to rice cereal, you can also introduce (yolk), fish paste, meat paste, vegetable puree, fruit puree, thin porridge, and soft noodles.
For constipation, here are some treatment methods:
1) Drink more water. You can add (milk companion) to formula or water, with 1 packet per day.
2) Perform clockwise abdominal massage twice a day, for 5–10 minutes each time.
3) If the baby hasn’t had a bowel movement for several days, you can use (infant glycerin suppository) or soap sticks. But avoid long-term use.
4) For formula-fed babies, offer warm water between feedings. If constipation occurs, you can also dilute the formula slightly.
5) Give the baby more fresh vegetable and fruit juice.
