Patient's question:
My son was diagnosed with purpura 7 weeks ago. After hormone treatment, his joint symptoms disappeared, but the skin purpura occasionally reappears (it hasn't appeared in the past 10 days). He is now on a vegetarian diet. May I add some soy products?Doctor's answer:
Hello: Precautions for Henoch-Sch?nlein Purpura:1. Rest as much as possible, especially during the acute phase (about 3 months), to avoid overexertion, which may worsen the condition and lead to nephritis.
2. Colds, fever, and diarrhea can all aggravate the condition, causing recurrence or worsening of the disease. Therefore, preventing infections is crucial. Seek timely treatment for fever and colds, avoid crowded public places, and ensure isolation if the patient has a cold.
3. Avoid vaccinations (injections) after diagnosis to prevent allergic reactions.
4. Refrain from consuming animal proteins, such as seafood, beef and mutton, and instant noodles (which contain preservatives). During recovery, gradually reintroduce lean meat, milk, and eggs. These foods should also be avoided during the acute phase.
5. If the patient is allergic to fur, avoid using down products (e.g., duck down bedding, down jackets) in winter.
6. Conduct a urine test every 1-2 weeks within the first 3 months of illness and once a month after 3 months.
