Symptom Description: Today at noon, my baby ate some fish around 12:00 PM and then went to sleep. Around 2:30 PM, he woke up and started vomiting. How is this possible? He has never had this kind of symptom before. My baby is currently 9 months old. Medical history and treatment effectiveness: No treatment has been given. What kind of help do you need: I want to know how this happened.

Doctor's answer:

Children vomiting for no reason should first be suspected of a cold, as the body may experience many discomforts during a cold, which could also lead to vomiting. Check if the throat is red or swollen and observe if the tonsils are enlarged. It is recommended to drink some saltwater first, then eat some millet porridge. Adding some pickled vegetables to the millet porridge should be beneficial. Additionally, avoid cold foods and cold beverages, and fruits should be avoided for now. If vomiting is severe, it is advisable to take a tablet of vitamin B6 and ensure the child stays warm. Children usually recover from vomiting quickly.
Alternatively, some digestive and anti-emetic medications can be used, such as domperidone suspension or pediatric compound chicken gizzard powder. Do not let the child overindulge in coldness, and drink some water appropriately. Eating is not recommended for now.
