Patient's question:
Found that the baby's left foot slightly turns out when walking. Went to the children's hospital for a check-up. The doctor said the pelvic X-ray showed an angle of 27 degrees on the left hip joint and 28 degrees on the right. The doctor mentioned there was a slight abnormality and recommended using a walking brace. Alternatively, they suggested holding the baby's legs apart and walking slowly, which might help it improve on its own. I'm not sure what to do now.Doctor's answer:
Conservative treatment: includes harness and manual reduction. The harness treatment is primarily used for infants under 6 months, while manual reduction is suitable for children aged 6 months to 2 years. Before the reduction, skin traction is applied, followed by manual reduction under general anesthesia. Finally, a modified frog cast is used for fixation for 3 months. If the position of the femoral head and acetabulum is stable, it is then switched to a modified frog frame for fixation for 6 months or longer.
