Patient's question:
These days, my boss said I'm not in good spirits, which has affected my work performance. Actually, I didn't mean to, either. I often can't sleep at night and sometimes feel anxious and uncomfortable. If it gets worse, I'm worried it might affect my health and work. How should I treat a cold?Doctor's answer:
Fever is a manifestation of the body's defense mechanism and should not be treated hastily. When the body temperature is between 37.5℃ and 38.5℃, medication is unnecessary. Rest well and drink plenty of water. For babies with a history of high fever seizures, antipyretic and sedative drugs should be used when the temperature reaches 38℃.When the body temperature is above 39.5℃:
(1) Loosen clothing and bedding to avoid excessive covering, allowing the body to dissipate heat.
(2) Physical cooling methods can include warm water baths (water temperature should be 1–2 degrees lower than body temperature) or using warm, damp towels for bathing.
(3) Medication for cooling is commonly used, such as Paracetamol (Tylenol), Acetaminophen, etc.
