Features: This book is a vocational and technical college-level tutorial on the principles, implementation, and applications of Digital Signal Processing (DSP), developed in line with the training objectives of vocational and technical education and the spirit of the National Conference on Higher Vocational and Technical Education Textbooks for Electronic Information. The book provides an overview of the fundamental concepts, definitions, and examples of digital signals and systems. It thoroughly discusses basic concepts and theories such as difference equations, digital convolution, z-transform, discrete-time Fourier transform and Fourier series, digital filters, transfer functions, frequency response, spectra, the design of infinite and finite impulse response digital filters, and discrete and fast Fourier transforms. It also dedicates significant to the hardware implementation and programming of DSP, as well as its applications in audio and image processing and wavelet analysis. The mathematical knowledge involved is presented in a concise form. The book is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction, summarizing the basic knowledge of signals and systems, the fundamental concepts of time-domain discrete systems, digital signal processing, and the composition and applications of DSP systems. Chapter 2 introduces an important discrete Fourier transform in digital signal processing, two fast algorithms for discrete Fourier transforms (FFT), fast algorithms for the inverse discrete Fourier transform, and the base-4 FFT algorithm. Chapter 3 provides a detailed discussion of the basic structures of digital filters and digital filter design theories, elaborating on various design methods and examples, including computer-aided design, based on MATLAB. Chapter 4 covers digital signal processors, including the TMS320 series and TMC2310, the composition of DSP chips, the description and use of DSP system development tools, and the development and applications of DSP systems. Chapter 5 provides a detailed introduction to the software and hardware implementation of real-time digital signal processing systems and lists a series of digital signal processing experiments. This is done to emphasize the internal connections in the content and the issues to be noted in practical applications, thereby combining theoretical methods with technical implementation and giving equal importance to software and hardware realization. The book offers a concise and comprehensive introduction to the fundamental knowledge of digital signal processing and the applications of DSP systems. It also discusses digital signal processing theory (discrete Fourier transform and fast Fourier transform) and FFT algorithms, the fast algorithms for the inverse discrete Fourier transform and base-4 FFT algorithms, the basic structures of digital filters, the design of IIR and FIR filters, and computer-aided design of digital filters. Based on the TMS320C54X series digital signal processor, it elaborates in detail on the use of DSP system development tools and the development and applications of DSP systems. In the practical training section, through examples of DSP implementation, it provides detailed annotations and explanations of DSP programs for implementing various digital signal processing algorithms and the DSP implementation of digital filters, helping readers understand and master the methods and techniques for implementing processing algorithms and digital filters. This book can serve as a textbook for students in electronic information and communication-related majors at vocational and technical colleges and also as a reference for engineers and technicians working in various fields of signal processing.
