Features: The ancient Chinese poetry and prose are vast, and students already have a considerable academic burden. Therefore, the content to be memorized must be concise and essential. The "Student's Treasury of Readings" series focuses on famous Tang and Song Dynasty poems and lyrics as the main, with 40 poems in each volume, totaling 360 poems. The classical Chinese texts are divided into two stages:
- Volumes 1 to 5 include sentences, primarily famous ones, along with selected excerpts from traditional elementary education materials that are both ideologically and linguistically superior. Each volume has 40 units, with one or two sentences per unit.
- Volumes 6 to 9 mostly feature passages, with 40 passages per volume. Most of these sentences and passages are selected from classic works of the pre-Qin and Western Han periods.
This series is suitable for students in the nine-year compulsory education stage, with one volume per year. High school students, especially those aspiring to study literature and history, can use it to supplement their classical Chinese reading volume. Adults who lost the opportunity to learn ancient poetry and prose earlier and now wish to read some of it or understand traditional culture can also use it as an introductory book.
For ease of self-study, volumes 1 to 5 include Pinyin annotations for both poetry and prose, along with summaries of the texts. Volumes 6 to 9 annotate difficult and easily misread characters with Pinyin, while also providing brief annotations, summaries, and hints for both poetry and prose.
This is the first five volumes of the series.
