Patient's question:
I am 36 years old this year, and recently I have been feeling unwell. During the day, I sometimes feel dizzy, and it has also affected my work. At night, I can't sleep, and the medicine I took doesn't seem to work well. Could you please tell me what a normal temperature is for a 1-year-old baby?Doctor's answer:
The normal basal body temperature of a healthy child is between 36.9℃ and 37.5℃. Generally, when the temperature exceeds the basal body temperature by more than 1℃ , it can be considered a fever. Among them, low-grade fever refers to a temperature fluctuation around 38℃, and high fever occurs when the temperature is above 39℃. Fever lasting for more than two weeks is referred to as prolonged fever. The above basal body temperature refers to rectal temperature, which is measured from the anus. Oral temperature is generally lower by 0.3℃ to 0.5℃ compared to rectal temperature, and axillary temperature is lower by 0.3℃ to 0.5℃ compared to oral temperature.
