Features: After China's entry into the WTO, adopting international standards has become an urgent task in China's standardization work and economic and trade activities. The World Trade Organization does not develop international standards, but relies on standards developed by ISO, IEC, and some international organizations in specialized fields as means for contracting parties to reduce trade barriers arising from technical regulations, standards, test programs, and certification systems in international trade. Since 1983, the International Organization for Standardization has published the "Keyword Index to Subject Matter" (abbreviated as KWIC) every two years, which includes standards, recommendations, conventions, and their technical annexes and implementation specifications developed by ISO, IEC, and 26 ISO-recognized international organizations. After the sixth edition in 1993, ISO ceased its publication work and directly included some of the standards in the annual standard catalog of the International Organization for Standardization. Currently, the number of ISO-recognized international organizations has increased to 40 (see Appendix), and these organizations maintain varying degrees of connection and cooperation with ISO and IEC in standardization work. The standards, regulations, agreements, conventions, or recommendations issued by these organizations are all regarded by ISO as internationally recognized documents, thereby playing a guiding role in the standardization work of relevant fields worldwide. In the "Handbook of International Standardization Work," we have dedicated a section to introduce these international organizations. At the same time, the bibliographic entries of the aforementioned important documents have been compiled separately into this catalog to provide convenience for readers in searching and to offer information for China's adoption of international standards in relevant fields.
