Lesson 1: Basic Operations of Chinese Word97
Chinese Word97 is a powerful text processing software that runs under Windows 95/98/2000 systems. Its outstanding features include the ability to process text, graphics, and images, as well as its "what you see is what you get" functionality.
I. Starting Chinese Word97
After starting Windows 98, you can launch Chinese Word97 using the following three methods.
Method 1:
(1) Click the "Start" button to open the "Start" menu.
(2) Move the mouse pointer to "Programs" and click "Microsoft Word" in the submenu. The system will open the "Microsoft Word" application window, and Word97 will launch successfully.
Method 2:
(1) Click the "Start" button to open the "Start" menu.
(2) Click the "New Office Document" option, and the "Open Office Document" dialog box will pop up on the screen.
(3) Click the "Common" tab in the dialog box.
(4) Click "Blank Document" to open the "Microsoft Word" application window, and Word97 will launch successfully.
Method 3:
Double-click the "Microsoft Word" shortcut icon on the desktop to open the "Microsoft Word" application window, and Word97 will launch successfully.
II. Composition of the Chinese Word97 Window
After successfully launching the Chinese Word97 system, the following window will appear on the screen. The names and functions of each part of the window are as follows:
Title Bar: Displays the application name (Microsoft Word) and the name of the document being edited.
Menu Bar: Provides various operation commands of the application (including 9 items such as "File," "Edit," etc., each with a dropdown menu).
