Patient's question:
To all the doctors:A 3-month-old baby is drooling. What could be the reason? What should we do? Is there a good solution? Thank you!
Doctor's answer:
Hello, drooling in babies is mostly a normal physiological phenomenon. At 6 to 7 months, babies start teething and begin eating solid foods. Food often stimulates nerves, salivary glands, and other areas, leading to increased saliva production. Additionally, babies have small oral cavities and may not be able to swallow or regulate saliva promptly, causing it to accumulate and result in drooling. As babies grow and their oral functions improve, this drooling will naturally subside, so treatment is generally not required.
