Patient's question:
My baby was born on 2005-7-15, and it has been more than 5 months since then. There is basically no hair growth. I am wondering if this could be due to a deficiency in something? Everything else is normal. Looking forward to your reply, thank you!Doctor's answer:
??????Hello! The amount of hair a baby has at birth varies from person to person. Some babies may have thick, dense hair, while others may have sparse hair with only a few strands. Some may even have no hair at all. This is because fetal hair (lanugo) gradually falls out when the fetus develops in the uterus for 5-6 months. Infants with thin and sparse hair usually start to grow hair around the age of one. After two years, their hair will grow to be similar to that of other children. By the age of 5-6, their hair will be as dense and dark as that of other babies.
