Publishing such a large-scale collection of linguistic works in just a few months is rare in China's academic publishing history. Since its publication, numerous institutions and individuals have eagerly ordered the series. Graduate and undergraduate students view the Collection as an invaluable guide, while teachers of all ages regard it as a source of knowledge renewal. Practice has proven that the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press's Collection has been widely praised by the domestic linguistics community and foreign language teaching circles. It will become a treasure trove for advancing China's linguistic teaching, research, foreign language teaching, and studies. Building on the success of the first batch of 54 titles, the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press is now releasing the second batch of 58 titles. The second batch of the Collection features five key characteristics: First, it comprises 58 original English-language works, expanding the disciplines covered from 26 in the first batch to 33 now, including new fields such as the history of linguistics, philosophy of language, cognitive linguistics, anthropological linguistics, the origins of language, and chemical grammar theory, thereby more comprehensively meeting readers' needs. Second, it includes influential works by renowned linguistic figures such as Saussure, Sapir, Bloomfield, Halliday, Chomsky, Austin, Grice, and Leech, adding to its authoritative nature. Third, it incorporates classic linguistic works published by prestigious international publishers such as Oxford University Press and Harvard University Press. Fourth, it continues to include expert introductions, with a more robust team of experts than in the first batch.
