Features: This series of books is primarily compiled based on the needs of a broad group of calligraphy enthusiasts at different cultural levels and ages for understanding brushwork techniques during their learning process. The content mainly consists of three parts: introductions to calligraphers and inscriptions, works appreciation, and basic brushwork illustrations. Among them, the "Basic Brushwork Illustrations" section also includes tips on general brush usage methods, as well as explanations for specific brushwork techniques of certain calligraphers or inscriptions, presented in a diagrammatic way. This section has a large volume and is prone to errors; we kindly request corrections from relevant individuals to help rectify them. Additionally, in the selection of inscriptions, this series is mainly categorized by script type, namely the five traditional styles—Regular, Cursive, Clerical, Seal, and Running—choosing the most representative works within each style. The brushwork explanations are also highly representative and targeted, such as Yan Zhenqing's Qinli Stele and Liu Gongquan's Xuanmiao Pagoda Stele in Regular script, Wang Xizhi's Lanting Preface in Running script, and the Caoquan Stele in Clerical script, etc. Broad calligraphy enthusiasts can selectively study based on their actual needs.
