Features: The Illustrated Catalogue of Chinese Butterflies is the most comprehensive butterfly book currently recorded in China. It documents 369 genera, 1,222 species, and 1,851 subspecies of Chinese butterflies, accompanied by nearly 5,000 color illustrations. Virtually all butterfly species collected in China can be found in this Catalogue, providing a fundamental understanding of the resources of Chinese butterflies and systematically arranging the classification system of Chinese butterflies, filling the gap in the research of butterfly classification in China. After the first edition of The Illustrated Catalogue of Chinese Butterflies was published, Professor Zhou Yao spent over three years conducting a systematic study on the classification of Chinese butterflies, compiling a complete checklist of all species in 369 genera of Chinese butterflies, and publishing the book Butterflies of China and Identification. On this basis, feedback and suggestions from readers at home and abroad were incorporated to comprehensively revise and refine the first edition of The Illustrated Catalogue of Chinese Butterflies. The chapter "History of Research on Chinese Butterflies" was rewritten, errors in the classification of the first edition (including scientific names, color illustrations, etc.) were corrected, some color specimen illustrations were replaced, and the taxonomic characteristics and geographic distribution of each butterfly species were systematically processed, making the book more scientific and accurate.
