The three years I spent in the military taught me everything about loneliness. We all have experienced loneliness, and I poured all the sympathy that arose from it into the poor Charlie Brown. —Charles Schulz
"It consists of a series of small illustrations, centered on a love and desire for life—integrating into life, finding one's place, seeking identity. It represents a group of good friends who accept each other, though they struggle to find their place." —Mary
"Everyone longs to see growth and vitality, while also needing intimacy, security, and stability. Snoopy becomes our good companion." —Lauren Macy
The mischievous child Ping Pong continues to roam freely, and he exaggerates dust storms wherever he goes, naturally making him a target for everyone's criticism. In stark contrast to Charlie Brown, Ping Pong doesn’t care whether people like him. He is naturally very confident and even believes he will become a white-collar worker in the future, after reading so many books. When people criticize his appearance, he boasts about having an "unpolluted conscience"; when described as a "pile of human-shaped mud," he wittily claims, "To criticize me is to criticize the mud under your feet." This makes Charlie Brown very envious, and he sincerely says, "Everyone admires your independent spirit."
Linus falls in love with his female teacher Otis. This boy seems destined to be in love with a knowledgeable woman much older than him. Earlier, he was smitten with the famous teacher Miss Francine whom he saw on TV. For a long time to come, the image of his teacher, with her laughter and smile, would linger in his mind. He declares her the "world's greatest teacher," passionately declaring, "I love the land she has walked on," and even calls her name repeatedly in his dreams. Besides his teacher and blanket, Linus gradually devotes more interest to the "Pumpkin King" he has fabricated. From the stories he tells over and over again, people half-believe in the existence of a "Pumpkin King" who will appear on Halloween. Like Santa Claus, this generous messenger of the holiday will bring toys or candy according to the lists of requests each child has written in advance. Watching the faint spirit in the pumpkin, Linus becomes increasingly convinced that he is the human messenger of the "Pumpkin King."
