Features: Hi! Kids in China, I am Pinocchio, the world-famous little puppet. You will see the real story of what happened to me for the first time in comics. Mr. Collodi created my image in 1881, and from Italy to Ireland, from Japan to China, generations of kids have known me. Because we have similarities: foolish, disobedient, reckless, rebellious, but also love to imagine, have many beautiful wishes, and hope to grow up quickly. So, the Carlo Collodi National Foundation has especially set up a Pinocchio Park for me—Hi! Come to Italy, come to my paradise in Tuscany to see it, and you will find it is simply breathtaking! A hundred and twenty years ago, Mr. Collodi narrated the story of Pinocchio in his unique, distinctive, and extremely elegant Italian of the 19th-century Florence region. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Pinocchio's birth, the Carlo Collodi National Foundation commissioned Ms. Bolognese, an expert in Italian language and literature, to vividly recreate Mr. Collodi's linguistic style in contemporary Italian. To help today's children read more vivid works, we have adopted the comic format to better engage our young readers while also enriching their language and vocabulary. Another purpose is that we want to maintain and expand the active communication and connection between the characters in Mr. Collodi's works and readers, whether adults or children, Italians or non-Italians.
