Features: Ancient Chinese literature is vast and boundless, and the series compiled by scholars across generations have played a crucial role in its preservation and transmission. Previous scholars searched for various books, compiled them into series, published and disseminated them, which not only facilitated scholars' access and use but also contributed to their preservation and circulation, a meritorious deed. The Hundred Rivers of Learning compiled and published by Zuo Gui in the Song Dynasty, the Shuofo compiled by Tao Zongyi in the Yuan Dynasty, the Thirteen Classics and Seventeen Histories compiled and published by Mao Jin in the Ming Dynasty, along with a batch of literary series, as well as the Zhibu Zhai series compiled and published by Bao Tingbo in the Qing Dynasty, the Shili Ju series compiled and published by Huang Pili, the Baojing Tang series compiled and published by Lu Wenqiang, and the Xuejin Taoyuan series compiled and published by Zhang Haipeng, are all outstanding representatives of series. Series come in various formats. Among them, those that collect the works of scholars from a specific region and related documents are known as local literature series, also referred to as prefecture-county literature series or homeland literature series. Local literature series are a product of the mature stage of series development, as evidenced by the numerous homeland literature series that emerged during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, particularly in the Qing Dynasty. Local literature series play an irreplaceable role and value in understanding the history, geography, economy, and culture of a region, while also serving as comprehensive literature series that reflect many aspects of Chinese and historical culture.
