What are the methods for treating infant diaper rash?

Patient's question:

Hello everyone, my baby is 40 days old, a boy. There are small red dots on his inner thighs. He has been urinating, and I have been washing him with warm water, but it's still not working. Could you please tell me how to treat diaper rash in infants?

Doctor's answer:

My child is two months old, and I think this method works really well. Before, he used to get diaper rashes a lot, but after using this method, they stopped.
First, place a slightly thicker layer of toilet paper on the diaper, then put a baby waterproof pad on top. The waterproof pad allows urine and poop to seep through into the toilet paper, keeping the bottom dry and comfortable. You don’t need to wash the bottom every time you change the diaper—just apply baby powder when changing the diaper (but this depends on your baby’s situation. If your baby only poops every few days, you may need to wash the bottom after every other diaper change. If your baby poops several times a day, follow the previous method).
After every poop, you must wash the bottom. After washing, apply Johnson’s Baby Powder, making sure to cover every crease. Also, the diaper must be thoroughly cleaned to avoid irritation from soaps or detergents. The diaper must be dried before use, or it may cause. Additionally, change the diaper frequently.
