Features: Have you ever seen strange yet beautiful and adorable wild creatures like the saola, the gnu, and the Tasmanian wolf, all in danger of extinction? Have you witnessed the graceful agility of the Arabian leopard, skillfully hidden in the rocks of Western Asia, and the swift pursuit of the four-toed hyena across the grasslands of South Africa? Do you know the beautiful, long-lived, and loyal blue parrot, which is poached and sold for over 20,000 euros per pair in the market? Have you heard of the "werewolf" called the Malagasy fossa, which mates in parallel on the same tree every year to reproduce? The authors of this book, a French veterinary couple, have braved all kinds of hardships to capture their true, natural habitats and have written a series of insider stories that are little known to the outside world.
The young French veterinarians, Jean-Fran?ois Lagoro and Isabelle Lagoro, began by approaching animals and gradually developed a deep love for them, dedicating themselves to contributing everything to the protection of wildlife. Unafraid of difficulties and dangers, they embarked on two global expeditions, first on motorcycles and then by car, crossing continents and seas, climbing mountains and hills, to remote corners of dozens of countries and regions in both the East and the West. They found nearly 20 endangered species of wildlife that were disappearing and captured their beautiful, strange, yet perilous and lovable true images up close. At the same time, they vividly and concisely recorded their scientific classification, characteristics, habits, and reasons for endangerment based on firsthand information, telling readers when and where they might encounter these creatures.
The young couple, bound together by their shared ideals and passions, took their beloved little daughter with them on their adventures to seek out these animals in various places, embodying the deep love of a new generation of dedicated individuals for nature and wildlife. This brings readers multiple forms of enjoyment and benefit. The Chinese translation of this book publishes the two books resulting from the authors' two adventures as two separate volumes: the first volume is Three and a Half Years of Global Adventures, and the second volume is The Second Expedition. The entire book includes 312 color photographs (144 in the first volume and 168 in the second volume).
