Features: This book is designed for second-year foreign students of Modern Chinese. Foreigners who have mastered the basic grammar of Modern Chinese and more than 2,500 words can also use it. Upon completing this book, students should be able to understand Mandarin Chinese at normal speed in daily social communication and engage in relatively fluent and accurate spoken Chinese conversations and extended expressions. This textbook consists of 32 lessons, with every three lessons forming a unit, each accompanied by a "Unit Review" lesson. Each lesson is divided into two main parts: Listening and Speaking. The Listening section includes three listening texts. Recording 1 is the main text, accompanied by vocabulary (including English and Japanese translations), explanations of key terms, and exercises. Recordings 2 and 3 only require students to understand the main content, without new vocabulary or explanations of key terms, and include one to two exercises. The listening texts are appended at the end of the book for reference. The speaking texts are thematically aligned with the main listening texts and, as much as possible, reproduce the vocabulary and sentence structures. The "Unit Review" recaps the three lessons in the unit, with review methods roughly divided into listening and speaking training. Vocabulary and sentence structure reviews are either given as separate exercises or integrated into the listening and speaking practice.
