Congratulations on creating a "revolution in education." Among the language learning courses I have seen, this is clearly the most effective. I am simply amazed by the outstanding work you have done. You have undoubtedly adopted the best theories in psycholinguistics and, in a unique way, have written a textbook that can clearly and effectively capture students' attention and inspire them with intrinsic motivation. What impressed me particularly while reviewing this book was your innovative approach to handling many practical problems in English. Your method turns learning into a joy. I was also surprised by your ability to incorporate a substantial amount of scientific knowledge into the textbook. I am delighted to have this material because I am showing it to people around me to demonstrate what an effective language textbook should be like.
The revised edition maintains the original communicative language teaching framework and retains the highly flexible and adaptable unit structure. It further develops and implements the principles of communicative language teaching while placing greater emphasis on the integration of cultural knowledge in language instruction. Outdated or time-bound materials have been updated, and new content reflecting the era of the new century has been added.
This textbook is designed for first- and second-year English majors in colleges and universities. It consists of four volumes, each divided into two parts (Upper and Lower), and is intended for use over one semester.
