Features: "The Public English Test System (PETS)" is a series of five-level English exams designed by the National Education Examination Administration for the general public. Its design intent and purpose are to establish an English testing system that covers all levels of English proficiency, improve testing methods to address the long-standing problem of "silent English," enhance the reliability of English proficiency assessments, and provide authentic and credible English proficiency results for candidates with various purposes. PETS 5 is the highest level in the PETS series, a non-academic English exam with no restrictions on candidate backgrounds. This level of exam requires candidates to master approximately 7,500 words and related phrases, including newly emerging vocabulary and expressions in current world economy, technology, humanities, and social aspects. For this purpose, a specific vocabulary outline has been formulated. However, it should be noted that occasionally, the reading materials in the exam may contain a very limited number of words and phrases beyond the vocabulary outline, which are not annotated.
